“ The spicy crispy pork intestines is THE best chongqing style spicy fried pork intestines. It has the perfect amount of heat (as in not tasting like just chili cooked with chili). The intestines are crispy, juicy, smooth and velvety, with perfect bite sized cuts. I almost cleaned the entire plate in one sitting just by myself. And it has peanuts! What an amazing nutty party in your mouth. ”
“ Okay so this is from the perspective of someone who speaks a little bit of Chinese and yes it makes a difference service wise. This place is like old school szchuan mom and pop shop y'all...it's very small but cozy in its own way. When we came in at like 9pm it was empty...the owner told us to sit wherever we wanted... And we ordered food by saying the letters and numbers.... Soo for the service...it's not that she doesn't try....she can't speak English and my white bf asked where the bathroom was ... She pointed to market ..until I spoke Chinese to her and she said either go to the market or go to the fastfood restaurant near it because this place is tiny and doesn't have a bathroom.. okay. That's fine..but she seemed a lot friendlier and kinder after I spoke in Chinese and said things like they make the food from scratch right after you order and just kept on checking up... Kind of gave me the best asian mom vibes . Things ordered A13 tea smoked duck. 11/10 get this. Even the half portion is amazing for 16 though we got the whole duck. It's like if smokey pecking duck and salty tea eggs had a baby. This. The skin is slightly crispy the meat is not dry, itd very spiced and slightly smokey, not too salty. This is a good start. M2 vegetarian 3 items. 8/10 portion size fantastic... It's an okay dish to get esp if you're vegetarian. This fould feed 3 people lol. Cucumbers are slightly pickled and theres a faint garlic scent. Seaweed.... I couldn't taste garlic but that's fine.. it is vinegary, salty, and savory ... Kind of reminds me of the seaweed you get at a 99 ranch market.. Bean curd...it comes with chilli oil. D3 mapo tofu. Lol be aware they may adjust the spiciness if you aren't asian .. But 8.5/10 portion size is enough for 2 people...they use soft but not too soft tofu douban Jiang Sichuan peppercorn a lot of chili oil minced pork. There's a lot of saltiness and slight numbing. I want my mapo tofu spicier but it's still really good. D14 hot pepper chicken. 12/10. Get this. It's like popcorn chicken with more garlic chilli pepper goodness on crack and yes it's very savory and crispy. Numbing ...could be more spicy but the ratio of chicken to chilli is also a plus. Normally there's not enough chicken like 40% chicken...this one is a 70% chicken 30% spices and chilli. D22 cumin lamb. Eh. 7/10. It's not bad but I think there's too much onion and it's not spicy enough. You can taste cumin but this feels like very generic dish. Not one of their specialties. D28 spicy beef pot. 9/10. They put some celery, beef, cauliflower, potato, carrot in this. The seasoning is savory but I think it could be spicier. The portion though for the price is fantastic. For 13.00 this is like 2-2.5 portion. 9/10 yes I do would come back. Overall this is homey szchuan food and the owners are really kind and considerate....and checked up on me multiple times. Lol my main gripe is that yeah they didn't have to mild out the spicy but the flavors were easily a 10/10. It's not the best szchuan food but it's what I want..decent family sized portions well priced and well seasoned. If you're planning to come here either do their takeout or if you're dining in .. get someone who speaks Chinese. You'll have okay service but exceptional service if anyone speaks Chinese...and lol I'm not used to a Chinese restaurant having good service at all. Btw they don't do hot tea here lol hot water yes. But hot tea no. It's a bunch of canned drinks if you want something other than iced water. ”
“ The food was great! They are delicious. Will totally back again. The service was friendly and nice. ”
“ Went in on Christmas Day for their duck, it smelled amazing! My boyfriend said it was sooo good. Definitely going back again ”
“ It open late for dinner until 10pm. Small but very quint with excellent service. Small pop and mom shop with food made fresh to order. Food is delicious with the right amount of spice and the price is amazing especially for the portion! Make sure to bring cash. I think it's cash only. We paid cash. The place is small but can fits about 10 people to eat there. The lady is super nice and the man is the cook. Both are very kind! Definitely will come back to support. ”
“ Mom and pop type operation / small cafe located in a strip mall in Monrovia. They serve up some really delicious, fresh Chinese food at very reasonable prices. What I also love about this place is that it's also open relatively on the later side for this area (seriously...lots of places in this area seem to close early). This is perfect for even stopping by and ordering take out if you are leaving work a little later on the way home. The portions are great if you want to order for family style meals (dining in or take out) or if you just want to order a couple of items that will last a few meals as a solo diner. The folks here are very kind and helpful. This place first popped up on my radar a while back because of the high reviews when I was looking for dinner in the area after work. After eating ordering and eating the food from here, I can see why. I came in about 30 min before closing on a weeknight and ordered mapo tofu and sauteed eggplant along with an order of rice. I ordered to go because I didn't want them to wait around since they were closing soon. This lasted me about 2-3 meals and both dishes were very tasty. Would love to come back and order one of their noodle dishes or just more items from the menu in general. Such a great gem. Parking was really easy as well as the lot is pretty large and at the time, most surrounding businesses were closed. ”
“ They have the best food, huge portions, reasonable prices, and super nice and friendly! I took my spicy beef pot to go after I was done, and it still filled up the box! The owner even offered me more rice so I can have it for dinner I'm so impressed! ”
“ Great food and generous portions! The food was really good and had good flavor. I got the beef and potato pot and Mapo tofu. The mapo tofu with rice was only ~$10! Such a great price for the flavor and portions that usually would be ~$20 at a restaurant. Service was friendly and nice. The store is quite small and there's seating for around 10 people. Definitely support this local small business! I'm looking forward to trying more of their items. ”
“ We stayed in Arcadia for the first time and came across this place and it was delicious! They had a variety of spicy Chinese food but the only downside is they only accept cash. They let us pay with card but it's mostly cash. The service was great the lady there was very nice. The ambiance is small but cozy. We got the tea roasted duck and the spicy intestine pot. The tea roasted duck is good but it's too salty. If it was less salty it be amazing because it has a flavorful aroma. The spicy intestine pot was delicious. The potatoes in there were tender and yummy. Definitely a must come if you stay in Arcadia in LA ”
